"Visit the Overberg, and you will find bodies of water punctuating the vast landscape. I often think of them as pauses in the rolling fields of fynbos, barley, and wheat. As a pause, I associate water bodies as a point of reflection. Besides water holding literal reflections of its surroundings I also include them in my paintings as representative of personal rumination."
