"In this painting I selected a composition in which the building is obscured, partially covered by foliage. These types of spaces are typically read as “infrastructural” and hence ignorable – hardly breaching the membrane of conscious attention. Yet these types of schemes are deeply part of our lived consciousness, even if mostly ignored. It was my intention to capture something of that essence of ignored space in this painting."
